Nobody is saying that an outbreak of flu which will kill millions is inevitable or imminent, though of course it suits some to present themselves as the ones who will, if need be, save the world (yet again)
They are saying that conditions are right for a pandemic
But there are things we can do to mitigate, militate against it. And so we should all do what is sensible & proportionate
Once again however I am reminded of how medical ‘advice’ is almost always couched in terms of stern injunction: DO this, DO NOT do that. Without explanation which would help us decide what to do if obedience is not possible or easy or otherwise just does not suit our personal circumstance
