I was particularly delighted to hear the engineer in charge of signal transport & network aspects, Roshene McCool, a fibre optics engineer at Jodrell Bank. She, lucky girl, did a degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering, with French, at Nottingham University & is enjoying 'the challenges astronomers present to engineers & the unusual problems' they come up with.
