I heard Meg Hillier giving a fairly robust defence of the ID card scheme in the form that it had been implemented so far by the Labour government; she expressed disappointment that those who had voluntarily bought & paid for a card would no longer be able to take advantage of its very useful features, particularly as a travel document.
If the scheme had been as she described from the very beginning, rather than the over hyped we will know who you are just by looking in to your eyes & what is more we will know if you are a terrorist so what have you got to hide eh? …
