David Spiegelhalter, in an entertaining talk to the East Midlands group of the Royal Statistical Society (reported in the May edition of RSS News) estimated that “there are over 2,800 ways of phrasing two numbers if you consider options such as positive or negative, percentage or frequencies, relative or absolute numbers etc”
No wonder we haven’t got a proper handle on names for ratio numbers - yet
