Upsidedown sides

A collection of the Upsides & Downsides in the Times daily Dream Home featurette would be amusing ; I have a suspicion that a Downside to one home may well feature as an Up in another.

Are white walls a downside? Well yes, if they a bright white which offsets the impression of light with a clinical feel, in the opinion of one writer.

This linked very well to Philip Collins witty column about how Ed Miliband was, at least until his speech to the party conference, still struggling to find his colour – or sharpen up his public image if you prefer: “he has made lots of good arguments once but very few good arguments twice.”
Collins went on to make mock of Farrow & Ball colour names which include New White. “I’m sick of Old White, aren’t you?

Surely the problem with the dream home could be solved with a quick application of either New White or Old White – one of them must be less bright than the shade complained of.
